Sunset over lake Michigan
Yet another distraction from mother nature. I was in complete awe...
The first, and only time I actually stopped the car to take a photo while on the drive to Horseshoe Bend. This was taken somewhere in Utah.

There are very few modern marvels that catch my like natural wonder does. This is one of them.
Simply stated, this was dumb luck combined with good timing. 3rd exposure and this was the result. We arrived later than planned, and we walked up to this scene. Needless to say, this was the exact image I wanted to capture to finish compiling my first waterfalls calendar.

Upper Tahquamenon Falls, in the upper peninsula of Michigan. We wandered down and around the steps, and ended up next to the wishing falls below all of the other onlookers. Have you ever heard of a wishing waterfall? I have not, but I'll take a little loose change over garbage.
Lake Michigan and the Milky Way galaxy. We pulled off of the road on US2, and walked down to the lake to see what kind of shots we could get. This was the best of the bunch. Robbie, Sean and I, a few ghosts start gazing. A good 30th birthday celebration for my buddy Bob.

The world threw every possible distraction at me. These distractions were a true test of my will to keep moving and make it to Horseshoe bend in time. Every time I took a look around while driving down the road, there was something that caught my attention. I knew I had to keep going, so naturally, I did it all wrong. This photo was taken in Utah, at 75MPH, controlling the rental with my knees, staring down the viewfinder of my SLR shooting photos. Smart, I know...
A four hour flight to LasVegas, followed by a 5 hour drive to Horseshoe Bend (Page, Arizona), all for 30 minutes worth of viewing time before the sun was down. I then hopped back in the rental for the 5 hour drive back to Vegas, all in the same day, solo. I would do it all over again, no questions asked. This place is incredible, and I have to get back out there in the near future to explore more of the area.
